Y
ou may or may not have heard that Google and Dell, EarthLink, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, and Philips have formed the “White Spaces Coalition.
What they plan on doing is using the current Analogue TV network for Broadband access, when it all switches over to Digital TV in a few years. This means that whereever you can pick up a tv signal now, in the future, you may be able to access the internet.
More about it on the Google blog here
Hopefully someone will bring this idea over here to the UK

Steve Bryant has been writing about this here
Three federal judges recently upheld a decision by the Merit Systems Protection Board that says a fired federal employee wasn’t harmed when an official used Google to research his prior work history.
The decision by the federal judges stemmed from the 2005 firing of David M. Mullins, an employee of the U.S. Commerce Department. Mullins was fired for misusing a government vehicle and credit card and falsifying travel documents.
After he was fired, Mullins appealed to the MSPB, a Washington-based independent quasi-judicial agency established to ensure adequate protection for employees against abuses by agency management.
In his appeal, Mullins contended that Valeria Capell, the Commerce Department official who was assigned to investigate the allegations against him, violated his “right to fundamental fairness” by using information about his prior work history that was gleaned from a Google search on Mullins’ name. Information from the search engine showed that Mullins had been fired from the Smithsonian Institution and from a civil service job with the U.S. Air Force.
The official argued that she didn’t decide to fire Mullins based on his Google history, but because he was just a spectacularly bad employee who misused government vehicles on 78 different occasions.
I thought it would be something different to do on a friday afternoon, Google the names of the employees here at Creativesuit.
Charlie Williams – The Big Boss
Our Charlie fails to hit the top 10 of google for his own name, he has plenty of other guises, novelists, footballers, and comedians. Although I am suspicous of who penned this novel, as it has our Mr Williams quite literally written all over it.
Gill Ripley – Studio Manager
Our Gill is number one for her own name, she does a nice sideline in reviewing for top music website Gigwise.
Kerry Duff – Project Manager, Queen of PPC
Apparently Kerry started her acting career in an amateur musical theatre company when she was 10. Her other interests include: reading, drawing and studying photography. She has been considering a career in pediatric medicine, but also wants to continue acting. She is an incredible actress who has already won awards and been in multiple shows and t.v. movies. Her sister, Shannon Duff, also acts, but… Sadly this is not our Kerry… Maybe she should start bidding on her own name.
Matt Rycroft – Online Marketing Manager
As Matt is the head of the SEO team here at creativesuit you would expect him to be all over Google. And he doesn’t dissapoint. Managing the top 6 results for anyone in the world called matt rycroft Despite some fierce competition from HM Ambassador Matthew Rycroft CBE, British Embassy, Sarajevo. We learn that Matt used to Dj in a previous life, and has a bizzare interview with the BBC at number 1. Which leads us nicely round to Dominic
Dominic Hill – New Business Apointment booker
Dom does not appear for himself on the search results, but following on from the DJ trend at creativesuit,
we found a better Dom Hill than the one we have. Specialising in just the sort of party you want to hold, which is somewhere between 10 and 250 people who want to get together, have a drink, have a chat and even a boogie. Based in Buckinghamshire. How could you resist the dancefloor with Dom hill manning the decks.

If Mr Kipling would like to explain to me why the wrapper for his cake seems to be 36 times bigger than the actual cake, he can email me at matt@creativesuit.co.uk.
Maybe he was expecting it to magically grow inside the wrapper.

Its only a matter of time before Watchdog are onto you about this Kipling.

In our office, from now on Thursday is going to be “New album Thursday” Where we decide on a new album, and then visit I-tunes and purchase said album that we as a team have decided that this weeks new album will be the album from the current UK number 1 artist Mika.

Now we all quite like the number one, with Matt thinking it sounds a bit like Freddie Mercury. But Matt’s hearing isn’t what it once was. Due to the years of abuse due to standing 2 ft away from huge monitor speakers in various DJ booths around the north west of England.
Anyway, we managed 4 songs of Mikas new album; Life in Cartoon motion before we decided it wasn’t worth listening to anymore, after the awful lollipop song we gave up.
Stay tuned for next weeks new album, where we may manage to listen to it all, although we will probally turn it off and stick Century FM back on.
